It is individually how much energy we have after a wonderful vacation. Some people find it difficult to get back on track with usual routines whereas others return with renewed energy. At Monograph, we have gathered four tips about how you get the best start at work after your vacation – whether it has been relaxation at the poolside or trekking in the mountains.
1. Get back in your usual circadian rhythm
Do not get annoyed if you are tired the first few days after vacation. The body needs to get used to the circadian rhythm you had before you went on vacation.
2. Form a general view
Start by forming a general view of the tasks you have on the writing desk. Wait with the tasks that require the most of you until you are ready. There is no reason to start at work in a stressed and hasty way.
3. Avoid overtime
It might feel tempting to work overtime, if there are many tasks on your writing desk. But try to avoid overtime. Prioritise your tasks depending on the deadlines and make the work fit into your working hours.
4. Say if you need any help
When the tasks grow and it has become an enormous challenge, do not hesitate to ask for help. Talk to your boss or manager if you need to move the deadlines or ask your colleagues if they have the time to help you get started.
